Filming Day 2: Evaluation

Yesterday we were able to complete the filming process for our music video. We now need to complete editing and begin to research and experiment with our ancillary products.

Myself, George and Nick left college during our media lesson to begin filming the rap parts. Daisy came with Emily after her lesson so that we could do the remaining shots of them both on scene. We began filming at about 4:15 which gave us about 30 - 45 minutes before Daisy and Emily arrived. In this time we were able to an alternative location for some extra filming, this was not in are notes or earlier planning but feel that it suits the overall theme of the video. Below is an image of the old cricket building that we used, we put the Kanye character on the steps to begin rapping. This is also beneficial to the narrative as it isn't far from the hotel, meaning that people who know Cambridge we see this as being very believable.

After these shots we processed onto the shots of Parker's Peace, here we used a variety of shots. We aimed to used the dolly but found that this was too shaky, instead we tried a slow; steady handheld shot next to the Kanye character. We found that this worked quite well, and could create an uneasy effect for the audience after it has been edited.

The shots down at the river were very straight forward, we needed to make sure that the crucial part of the narrative was well performed. When Adele catches up with Kanye and gives him the rings, this is important so the narrative makes sense. The footage of the couple after this argument was filmed last week, we had extra time as we were able to leave earlier than expected. Of-course we needed some shots for the instrumental, which we had already got from last week but decided it was best to add some more to this.

Towards the end of the filming it began to get cold, therefore we felt as if the last few shots were quite rushed. However, we do not thing this will affect our footage too badly, we ensured that the same shot was taken many times. This gives us more options during the editing process.
