We viewed a You-Tube video of how to use lighting effectively in music videos. The video explained how positioning of lighting can add dramatic effect and depth to the shots. We liked the effect of using lighting on the contrast of the video and really made the artist stand out. Since the demonstrator was using two lights, we could easily re-create this with the spotlights which we will be using. We thought we could also use the lighting available in the hotel room i.e. lamps. The college has also offered us some "gels" which can be added to the lights creating a tint, for example a cold blue, which we desire for for the hotel room.
We also viewed another short You Tube video titled "Best Camera Trick Ever!" which told us how to effectively pan a camera using a rubber-band. The difference we saw between the panning where no rubber-band was used and where a rubber-band was used was that the quality of the shots looked much better. Below is the video we viewed.
